Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Get Hosed Shop collects when you use gethosed.shop, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site and to orders placed through it, and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Who We Are
Get Hosed Shop is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [CITY], Michigan. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean that business, and “you” means anyone visiting the Site or placing an order. We are the party responsible for the personal information described here.
2. Information You Give Us
We collect the following directly from you:
- Contact and identity details — your name, email address, and phone number if you provide one.
- Shipping and billing addresses — street address, city, state, and ZIP code, saved to your account when you have one and recorded on each order.
- Account credentials — if you register, we store your email and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store your password itself and cannot read it.
- Order details — the products, quantities, and any custom specifications you order, plus the totals, tax, and shipping charged.
- Terms acceptance — the date and the version of the Terms of Service you agreed to at checkout.
- Correspondence — anything you send us by email or phone.
You can browse the catalogue and add items to a cart without giving us any of this. You can also check out as a guest without creating an account; in that case we still need your name, email, and shipping address in order to fulfil and confirm the order.
3. Payment Information
We never see or store your full card number. Card details are captured directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are transmitted from your browser to Stripe without passing through our servers. What we receive back and retain is only the card brand (for example “visa”), the last four digits, and Stripe's transaction reference — enough to identify a payment for receipts, support, and refunds, and nothing more. Stripe's handling of your card data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
4. Information We Collect Automatically
- Cookies necessary to run the Site — described in section 6.
- Cart session identifier — a random identifier that lets us remember your cart between pages. It expires after two hours of inactivity and is not tied to your identity unless you sign in.
- Server and security logs — our hosting provider records standard request information, which can include your IP address, for reliability and security.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party marketing pixels on this Site. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, and no cross-site tracking of your behaviour.
5. Information From Third Parties
If you choose to sign in using Google, Microsoft, or Apple, that provider tells us your email address and, where available, your first and last name. We use this only to create or access your account. We do not receive your password for that provider, and we do not gain access to any other data in your account there. Your use of those sign-in services is governed by each provider's own privacy policy.
6. Cookies
The Site uses only cookies that are necessary for it to function. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Session cookie — remembers your shopping cart. Expires after two hours of inactivity.
- Authentication cookie — keeps you signed in when you have an account.
- Antiforgery cookie — a security measure that protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
- Correlation cookies — short-lived cookies used only during external sign-in to complete the handshake securely.
- Stripe cookies — set by Stripe on the checkout page for payment processing and fraud prevention.
Because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the service you asked for, we do not show a consent banner for them. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart, sign-in, and checkout will not work.
7. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only to:
- Process, fulfil, and ship your orders, and take payment for them;
- Send transactional messages — order receipts and status updates. We do not send marketing or promotional email, and we do not operate a mailing list;
- Provide customer support and handle returns, refunds, and warranty questions;
- Maintain your account and order history if you have one;
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
8. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes. We share it only with service providers who need it to perform work for us, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Mailjet — delivery of order receipts and status emails.
- Shipping carriers — your name and delivery address, so your order can reach you.
- Our hosting provider — stores the Site and its database on our behalf.
Loading the Site also causes your browser to request fonts from Google Fonts and icons from the jsDelivr content delivery network. Those providers receive your IP address as a necessary part of serving those files.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will require the recipient to honour this policy.
9. How Long We Keep It
We keep order records, including the address and payment reference associated with them, for [X] years, because tax, accounting, and warranty obligations require it. Account information is kept for as long as your account is open. Cart data is discarded shortly after the session expires. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or render it anonymous.
10. Security
We protect your information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity: traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, card data is handled entirely by Stripe rather than by us, and administrative functions are restricted to authorised staff.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly at support@gethosed.shop if you believe your account has been compromised.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct anything inaccurate — you can update your name, email, and addresses yourself from your account, or ask us;
- Delete your account and personal information, subject to records we must keep for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons; and
- Receive a copy of the information you provided to us.
To make any of these requests, email support@gethosed.shop from the address associated with your account, or write to us at the address in section 15. We will respond within the time the law allows, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Note that we cannot delete an order record that we are legally obliged to retain, and deleting your account does not undo orders already placed.
12. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, your state may give you specific rights over your personal information — typically the right to know what is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccuracies, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising.
We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we never have — so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We honour the access, correction, and deletion rights described in section 11 for every customer, regardless of which state you live in, rather than only where a statute compels it. Use the contact details in section 15 to exercise them.
13. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business and adult purchasers, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to tell you. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
